Draughtsperson

We are seeking an experienced Draughtsperson to join a busy engineering team, supporting the design and development of electro-mechanical equipment.

Position: Draughtsperson
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum
Location: Leicester, with occasional travel to Dereham
Hours: 37.75 hours per week – Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Draughtsperson to join an established engineering and manufacturing organisation working across a range of industrial applications.

Reporting to the Senior Design Engineer, you will support the Engineering team with the design and development of electro-mechanical equipment, producing accurate technical drawings and design information for manufacture. You will also work closely with Production and R&D, helping to develop solutions that meet customer requirements and industry standards. Draughtsperson 

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing design requirements and supporting the engineering team with technical aspects of designs and material specifications
• Producing engineering drawings, BOMs and other design information for manufacture
• Supporting R&D activities, including the design and set-up of test equipment
• Working with Production to resolve manufacturing issues
• Managing a varied workload and delivering projects to agreed schedules and budgets
• Applying relevant design, regulatory and industry standards Draughtsperson 

About you

We are looking for someone with an HNC/HND, engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, together with relevant industry experience.

You will have strong engineering drawing skills and a sound working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD packages, ideally Autodesk. Experience of medium and high-voltage design is required, alongside good problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail. Draughtsperson 

Experience of sheet metal, fabrication, mechanical engineering practices or electrical equipment design would be advantageous. Draughtsperson
