Location: Milton Keynes/Hybrid
Hours: Full-time - 36.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £36,576 per annum + good range of benefits

As the Strategic Partnerships Proposal Writer, you will collaborate with colleagues across our UK, Field Offices, and WV International, engaging in technical, financial, and program management areas. Key responsibilities will include:
Bid Initiation:
- Collaborate closely with the SPD lead to craft program objectives aligning with the WV Field Office and affected communities' needs as well as the SPD donor's requirements.
- Contribute actively to discussions and streamline information gathering for informed decision-making.
Bid Development:
- Spearhead the coordination of diverse teams involved in the proposal and bid development, orchestrating timelines among various teams, Field Offices, external partners, and consultants.
- Develop a comprehensive bid development plan with realistic timeframes, ensuring clarity in roles, responsibilities, and deadlines.
- Ensure adherence to the organisation’s acquisition processes, managing Go/No-Go decisions, proposal workshops, and obtaining timely stakeholder agreement.
- Craft bid materials, encompassing expressions of interest, concept notes, proposals, capacity statements, risk assessments, budgets, logical frameworks, and monitoring and evaluation plans, collaborating closely with technical teams.
- Articulate a clear theory of change, emphasise value for money, and define cost recovery requirements within proposals.
- Deliver high-quality, contextually suitable, industry-standard submissions that effectively cater to needs.
Acquisition Lesson Learning:
- Maintain an accessible library of past concepts and proposals for reference.
- Collect and disseminate best practices and insights regarding proposal success, donor requisites, and program intricacies, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Conduct regular learning reviews to refine future proposal designs based on gathered insights and experiences.
About you:
As our Strategic Partnerships Proposal Writer, you'll be at the helm of an exhilarating opportunity, helping to steer the submission process to fulfil the organisation’s Institutional Funding income requirements.
Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field as a minimum qualification.
- Profound grasp of humanitarian and/or development theory, practice, and discourse, encompassing standards crucial to quality, accountability, and value for money within the aid sector.
- Demonstrated success in securing grants and contracts from bilateral, and multilateral donors, trusts, and foundations.
- Proven history of crafting compelling proposals that secure funding from Trusts, Foundations, and Corporate, and Philanthropic donors. Sound familiarity with proposal design formats and tools, including budgeting, reporting, and logical frameworks.
- Experience in establishing and nurturing robust stakeholder relationships, particularly with donors, with a preference for exposure to remote overseas work environments.
- Familiarity with initiating and negotiating partnerships between organizations.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with technical approaches and tools such as the theory of change, monitoring frameworks, and payment-by-results mechanisms.
- Track record of evaluating proposals and delivering high-quality, insightful analytical feedback.
