Operational Manager
We are looking for an operational manager to work within the mental health services with a wonderful charity combating homelessness, poverty, and marginalisation across East Sussex.
Position: Operational Manager
Location: Brighton, East Sussex
Salary: £32,795 plus On-Call Enhancement
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Closing Date: 31st January 2022
About the role:
As Operations Manager, you will assist in setting the strategic direction for the service and assist in the implementation of service development and continuous improvement.
As Operations Manager you will:
- Oversee the delivery of support to people with mental health and complex support needs
- Report on service contract requirements including service reviews and project reports
- Work with statutory and voluntary organisations
- Be responsible for Health and Safety of the service and reporting any concerns
- Ensure all aspects of the contract are met including meeting or exceeding KPIs and targets
- Manage referrals into the service and ensure move-on within-service timelines
- Be responsible for the recruitment and management of staff: inductions, supervision, appraisals, and training
- Arrange and attend team meetings, and de-brief sessions
- Oversee all aspects of service finance, setting, monitoring, and reporting on budgets
- Ensure that the service delivers a responsive and flexible approach to crisis management and support intervention, including the need for flexible working hours.

Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:
- Experience in coordinating support services for people with mental health and/or complex support needs
- Experience in leading and managing a team of staff
- Experience in coordinating preventative support, crisis care, and safeguarding with resilience and confidence
- Knowledge of safeguarding issues in relation to adults
- Knowledge of relevant housing, mental health, safeguarding, and Care Act Legislation
- Knowledge and an understanding of risk management
- Knowledge of housing management and accommodation-related support for individuals with support needs
- Knowledge of asset/strength-based approaches to working with people with multiple and complex support needs
- Ability to assess referrals for support accommodation, with consideration to individual needs, risks, and resources
- Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure and as part of a team
- Good time management skills and ability to prioritise workloads
