We are looking for a Website Content Manager to join the team on a maternity cover contract.

Position: VAC0135 Website Content and Project Manager
Location: London/Hybrid
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £37,509.67 Contributory pension scheme; generous travel-to-work allowance.
Contract: Maternity cover

About the Role
The main function of this role is the development and maintenance of the charity’s website. Additionally, support to departmental websites as needed will also be required ensuring that it is an exemplar of best practice and always up to date.
The Website Content Manager (Maternity Cover) is responsible for:
- Taking a key role in the design and layout of the International Headquarters (IHQ) website, using the Drupal-based CMS
- Working with other teams to communicate messages and news, curating engaging website content consistent with IHQ house style
- Implementing and maintaining high quality SEO policies and incorporating them with web content
- When needed, collaborating with territorial (regional) web designers to support the strengthening of territorial (regional) websites
- Collecting and analysing data on website usage to improve performance
- Reporting technical problems to the Communications Secretary and Managing Editor and liaising with the developers to fix them quickly
- Carrying out industry analysis and keeping an eye on trends, reporting this back to the team
- Building relations with internal stakeholders and attending key meetings
- Regularly reviewing website content, engaging with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy
- Being a part of the wider IHQ Communications team, providing insight and analysis on team objectives and projects
- Being part of the Communications 24 hours crisis cover rota
- Acting as the central point of communication to ensure alignment between IHQ’s objectives and the website developer’s deliverables
- Maintaining contact with advisory network to ensure content relevance.
- Maintaining support to the International Social Justice Commission and International College for Officers websites, using the in-house CMS
- Any other reasonable duties required by the Secretary for Communications and Managing Editor as a member of the Communications team.
The position is for nine months maternity cover and sits within the Communications Team in the Programme Resources Department.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience and role-related knowledge
- Written English to a high standard of syntax and accuracy in spelling, punctuation and grammar
- Extensive experience in website design and management
- Extensive experience with digital communication
- Experience of working in a publishing environment
- Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Effective time-management skills and self-motivation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Both a self-starter and a team player
- Basic knowledge of Salvation Army theology, principles, terminology and practice
- Basic knowledge of the organisational structure of The Salvation Army
- Desirable: Experience of working with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Acrobat, etc.)
Qualifications and training
- A degree in web design or other equivalent qualifications and significant relevant experience.
